Hi, I'm Sara, and today I'll show you three ways to film yourself without a crew.
Eyes onthe lens.
Eyecue is a teleprompter app for iPhone and Android. Your script scrolls right under the camera, so you read every line while looking into the lens.
Studio prompter, pocket size.
What a broadcast teleprompter does, on the phone you already film with.
Read right under the lens
Your script scrolls in a narrow column just below the front camera while it records, so your eyes stay next to the lens instead of drifting to the middle of the screen.

Tune every line
Scroll speed, text size, line spacing, side margins, four reading fonts and your own text and background colours. Changes show live on the script while you set them.
Mirror it for a glass rig
Put your phone under a beam-splitter teleprompter and turn on mirror mode: the text flips so it reads the right way round in the glass.

Follows your voice, in four languages
Voice scroll moves the script as you speak and waits when you pause. It understands English, French, Spanish and Arabic, and the whole app speaks those four, right to left included.

Bring the script you already have
Paste it, write it, or import .txt, .docx, .pdf and .rtf files. Folders and pins keep a long list in order, and a Bluetooth remote, keyboard or foot pedal runs it hands-free.

Script to take in four steps.
Type your first line and watch it roll.

Free to use. Pro is $19.99 a year.
The free app writes, scrolls, records and trims, with a small banner ad on a few screens. Pro removes the ads and adds extras like 4K video. The yearly plan starts with 3 free days.
Questions
Is Eyecue free?
Yes. You can write, import, record, trim and keep takes for free; the free app shows a small banner ad on a few screens. Eyecue Pro removes the ads and adds extras such as 4K recording, for $19.99 a year (with 3 free days) or $3.99 a month.
How do I read without looking like I'm reading?
Eyecue scrolls your script in a narrow column right under the front camera, so your eyes stay next to the lens. Keep the text large, sit an arm's length away and set a speed you can talk at. Read the guide.
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Eyecue is made for both. It is coming to Google Play first; the App Store version follows. Your scripts can follow you between phones when you sign in.
Do I need an account?
No. Everything works without one. Signing in with Google (or Apple on iPhone) only adds a backup of your scripts so you can get them back on a new phone.
Where are my videos kept?
On your phone. Takes are recorded and trimmed on the device and saved to your gallery when you choose. We never upload your videos.
Can I use a remote or a foot pedal?
Yes. A Bluetooth remote, keyboard or pedal that sends key presses works, and you choose which button plays, pauses, speeds up, slows down or starts recording.
Which languages does voice scroll understand?
English, French, Spanish and Arabic. On Android it listens on the phone itself; on iPhone it uses Apple's speech recognition, on the phone when your iPhone supports that language offline.
